How it works

The reconstitution math, simplified

Reconstitution turns lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide into a measurable solution. The concentration depends only on how much peptide is in the vial and how much water you add.

Step 1

Concentration

Concentration (mg/ml) = peptide in vial (mg) ÷ bacteriostatic water (ml).

Step 2

Draw volume

Volume to draw (ml) = desired dose (mg) ÷ concentration (mg/ml).

Step 3

Syringe units

On a U-100 insulin syringe, 1.0 ml = 100 units, so units = draw volume × 100.
